Entrepreneurial Advice: Don’t Do It!

#229-Entrep-what not doWhen it comes to business, so many of us focus on what we should be doing that we forget to think about what we should avoid doing.  In the article “A Dozen Don’ts for Entrepreneurs,” Guy Kawasaki points out 12 things that we as entrepreneurs shouldn’t do.  A few of what he calls “duhisms” are:

Don’t worry, be crappy. Perfectionism, first of all, is an illusion. When your product is good enough  (but not perfect ), ship it, and see what happens. It’s so easy to get caught up in doing everything the right way that you wind up doing nothing.

Don’t hire your family. The probability that your spouse or relative is the best person you can get for a job is 0%. There are plenty of qualified people out there who are ready, willing and eager to help you grow your business.  Best of all, these people don’t come with your family’s baggage.

Don’t focus on partnerships. Focus on customerships, not partnerships if you want to succeed. A friend of mine with two failed partnerships under his belt, follows the rule: no more partnerships.

Don’t ask people to do something you wouldn’t do. If you wouldn’t fill out ten fields of information and provide a credit card number for a free password, don’t expect your customers to. One of the best skills you can learn is to put yourself in someone else’s place.  If you can do that with your customers, it should be easier to meet their needs.

The article submission and online article submission used to be the really popular choice of different people. So, you can utilize that for your superior theme referring to this good topic.
